Mobile Apps

A mobile App is also called a Native App because it is a program that resides on the smart phone and is accessible thru an icon on your phone. Internet access may or may not be required to view all of the information.

Different phones have different operating systems (like PC and Mac) so the app must be programmed for each operating system. The most popular are the iPhone and Android. In addition each phone has it's own App Store, iPhone has iTunes Store and Android has the Android Store. The app must be approved by each store, iTunes had about a three week processing time and they are very picky and may reject the app if it does not meet their standards. The Android Store approves every application in about three days. They also charge a fee to process the app request.

Because each application must be hosted on separate servers, there is a monthly hosting fee.

Mobile apps are a good fit for your loyal customers and will keep them engaged.

With mobile apps you can send 'push notifications' (a simple text message) with specials and coupons.
Apps allow you to use the 'geo location' function of the individual cell phones and they can use it to check-in on location for loyalty rewards (check-in 5 times for a free entree).

Mobile apps are more expensive than mobile web sites because of the need to program for each operating device.
